👋🏻 Hello Reader...!

Hope you had a great weekend (even though today is Tuesday morning 😅). We can’t deny that the biggest and most prestigious cycling race in the world is happening right now — the Tour de France. With 21 stages over 3 weeks, this legendary event includes mountain climbs, flat sprints, time trials, and everything in between. It's a true celebration of endurance and grit.

Since cycling is part of the Endurance Mindset, we'll be shifting gears a bit this week. Expect more cycling content in our upcoming issues. So instead of our usual “What’s going on in the Running World,” this week we bring you:
🚴‍♂️ What’s Going on in the Tour de France?
Stay tuned below for a mini-guide on how this race works — especially if you’re new to it.

Now, let’s talk about this week’s edition:
Giving Back: How Runners and Cyclists Can Make an Impact
From charity races to volunteering and supporting causes that matter, your endurance journey can be about more than PRs — it can be about purpose.
As the Bible says: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

🤝 Giving Back: How Runners and Cyclists Can Make an Impact

Being part of the endurance community isn't just about chasing PRs or logging miles—it's about using your journey to inspire and support others. Whether you're training for a marathon, cycling through mountain passes, or simply showing up for your group runs, your presence matters. You have the power to uplift your local community, bring visibility to important causes, and create lasting change.

In fact, scientific literature shows that giving back has measurable psychological and sociological benefits. Studies have linked altruistic behavior to increased well-being, reduced stress, and even longer lifespan. Acts of generosity activate regions in the brain associated with pleasure and connection, reinforcing positive habits. Sociologists have also found that communities where members give and volunteer experience greater cohesion, trust, and resilience.

So here's how you can channel your passion for endurance sports into actions that truly make a difference.

1. 🎗️ Charity Races: Purpose With Every Step

  • Sign up for events that raise funds for causes you care about. Many marathons and rides have official charity partners.
  • You can also fundraise independently—dedicating your miles to a greater mission.

2. 🙌Volunteer at Events

  • Help out at local races—handing out water, managing aid stations, or cheering runners and cyclists along the way.
  • It's a great way to stay involved on rest days and see the sport from another perspective.

3. 🧑‍🤝‍🧑Support Your Local Clubs and Youth Programs

  • Donate your old gear, offer mentorship, or sponsor a registration fee.
  • Many communities lack access to proper training and equipment — your help could open doors.

4. 📣Advocate for Safe Roads and Trails

  • Join advocacy groups that push for safer infrastructure for runners and cyclists.
  • Use your platform to speak up about inclusivity, sustainability, and access to fitness for all.

🚴‍♂️ What’s Going On On the Tour de France?

We’re midway through the 2025 Tour de France and things are heating up on the roads of France 🇫🇷. Whether you're new to the Tour or a lifelong fan, here's what you need to know:

🟡 A New Leader Rises

After a stunning performance in Stage 10, Ben Healy from Ireland has taken the yellow jersey — the ultimate symbol of leadership in the race. He’s the first Irishman in 38 years to do so! This happened after a big mountain stage in the central region of France, where Simon Yates took the stage win.

⛰️ The Climbing Has Begun

Stage 10 marked the start of the serious climbing. Mountains are where the true Tour contenders show what they’re made of. We saw early moves from favorites like Tadej Pogačar, Remco Evenepoel, and Jonas Vingegaard, but Healy played it smart and consistent — and it paid off.

🛌 Today: Rest Day

No racing today (July 15) — just massages, recovery shakes, and strategic planning. But don’t get too comfortable: the battle for the podium continues tomorrow in Stage 11, a flatter day designed for sprinters to shine.

🏁 The Big Picture

With the Pyrenees and Alps still to come, this race is far from over. Expect fireworks in the next week as the mountain stages return and the fight for the yellow jersey intensifies.

🧠 Tour Tip of the Week

Yellow Jersey = Fastest Total Time
It’s not about winning every day. The winner of the Tour is the rider who completes all 21 stages in the lowest overall time.

📏 Kilometers Covered & Remaining

  • Completed (St 1–10)1,774 km ~53%
  • Remaining (11–21)1,565 km~47%

🔄 Next Key Stages To Watch letour

  • Stage 12 (Jul 17): Auch → Hautacam (180.6 km) – Summit finish in the Pyrenees, heavy climbing in final 60 km.
  • Stage 13 (Jul 18): Loudenvielle → Peyragudes (10.9 km, ITT) – Short mountain time trial—crucial test of GC legs.
