Reader,
Tomorrow at 8:00 AM, Bogotá stops for 42,000 runners from 60 countries. And you are one of them.
I'm writing to you as a Coach, as a fellow runner, and as someone who has crossed that same start line at Parque Simón Bolívar more than five times. I know exactly how tonight feels. That strange mix of nerves and calm. The mental review of everything you could have done differently. The wish that tomorrow were already here.
I want you to know something: you are already a champion. Not tomorrow if you hit your goal time. Not if you finish at the front of your corral. Already. Right now. The person who committed to a process, who trained when they didn't feel like it, who prioritized rest, who learned about their body and who arrives at this start line having done things right — that person already won.
This week we talked about altitude, pacing, nutrition, taper, and sleep. All of that is already in your body. Tomorrow you don't need to remember anything — you just need to run and trust.

To my PMPRunning athletes
To my guys competing tomorrow: several of you are racing your first 21K. You have trained intelligently, been disciplined, and trusted the process. I have seen every kilometer of that preparation from the inside. I have no doubt whatsoever that tomorrow you're going to do something extraordinary. You're people like you and me — who know that staying active and competing isn't a luxury, it's a life decision. That's what makes you special. Go get that medal. I'm watching you.
And after the MMB — I'll share your stories with everyone. You'll be the case studies of a special post-race edition. 📊

And for you reading this without racing tomorrow: this moment belongs to you too. Every race someone in this community runs is an inspiration for the next person who decides to try. And that next person could be you — or already is you.

When kilometer 17 gets heavy — and it will get heavy — don't think about how far you still have to go. Think about everything you've already run. Think about the person who six months ago wasn't sure they could make it here.
And when you cross the finish line — and you will cross it — stop for a second. Breathe the Bogotá air at 8,530 feet. Look at the medal in your hands. And remember that you built that moment, training by training, early morning by early morning.
